Shelley Patton

Shelly Patton

Meet Shelley Patton. Shelley joined the board in July 2019.

Shelley, a native southern Californian, moved to the Pacific Northwest with her husband, Gregg five years ago. The transplant was a success! She loves it 'up' here! She is retired and dodges the 'there's nothing to do' bullet daily with copious yard work and discovery on the beautiful property upon which she and Gregg settled.

When you acquire a place that had been the 'canvas' of a master gardener, well, you'd better get your hands dirty and keep up! She loves exploring the Olympic Peninsula with all of its hiking opportunities. Golf is fun until she's actually playing and then it's mostly just a really stupid game! Shelley is 'Mom' to four grown children and 'Grandma' to six lovely, dynamic girls. In her previous life she worked in Special Education as a paraprofessional aide working with children in grades kindergarten through fifth grades. She now volunteers in the kindergarten classrooms at Chimacum Primary School weekly. She loves getting to work with the little ones as they learn to read and gain confidence in their learning capabilities. Which brings us to Shelley's happy PLPA existence. When the opportunity to join the PLPA board presented itself the fact that Education Outreach was a position open she figured that would be a good fit. Getting the chance to coordinate with other local entities like the Port Angeles Symphony and Port Townsend's own Crossroads Music to bring the magic of music right to the students of the community was too good to pass up. Shelley is so happy that even though Covid still looms PLPA was able to bring an Education Outreach concert to the students at Chimacum High School this past February. She is grateful to be a part of this fantastic, enthusiastic PLPA board and to all of you for your continued and generous support!Meet Shelley Patton.
