I moved here from Gig Harbor two years ago, so I am finaly feeling comfortable about knowing the area! I have a BA in Business Administration from UW and a MA in Education from PLU (Pacific Lutheran University). I retired from teaching after 25+ years at Bremerton School District where I taught 4/5 grade students at Armin Jahr Elementary. At our school, we had yearly visits from Ted Brown Music who introduced my students to the variety of instruments they could play in middle school. We also had assemblies featuring members of the Bremerton Symphony. I was active on my district and school Science teams and participated with North Cascades and Olympics Science Partnership.
I’ve known music professionals who are family and friends, and through a professional audio recording studio in my home in Federal Way, 30 years ago, where we recorded albums for a variety of artists. I believe the Arts are vital to society, and exposing students to different forms of music enriches their lives and promotes Arts standards in our public schools.
