Steve Browning

Stephen Browning is a retired senior nonprofit executive, event producer, writer, performer and arts advocate who moved to the Port Ludlow area (Bridgehaven) in July. Most of his career was spent in Southern California, but this most recent move was from Tucson, Arizona, with time spent in Chiang Mai, Thailand and Ajijic, Mexico prior to that.

Professionally, Steve served as Vice-President for the American Cancer Society, overseeing the largest region in the U.S., while also serving as V.P for Distinguished Giving. Additionally, he served as President and CEO of Bellevue-based Pet Partners.

A native of the Northwest (Tacoma), Steve has served on the board of Seattle Musical Theatre, The San Diego Performing Arts League, The Palm Desert Civic Arts Committee, The Lakeside Theatre, Mexico's oldest English language theatre, The Theatre, Film and Television Advisory Board for the University of Arizona and most recently chaired the advisory board for the Fred Fox School of Music at UA.

Steve has produced musical events and revues in Dallas, Los Angeles, Palm Springs and Tucson and has appeared as a featured singer/performer in each location. In addition, he has been a contributing writer for Catalina Foothills Lifestyle Magazine and hopes to serve in that capacity for WestSound Magazine here on the peninsula.

Steve has also been an M.C., voiceover and reader's theatre actor and an avid supporter of music and the performing arts.

Who We Are

Port Ludlow Performing Arts (PLPA) is a not-for-profit community organization with an all-volunteer Board of Directors. It is dedicated to providing quality entertainment for area audiences, as well as offering educational outreach to support the arts in local elementary and secondary schools.

PLPA offers a season of seven concerts/programs each year, held at the South Bay Club in Port Ludlow, WA. Moving into its 31st season (2021-2022), the organization networks with agencies, auditions talent, negotiates contracts . . . all to schedule an exciting repertoire of entertainment for its patrons.
