Dick Meryhew

Dick Meryhew

My wife, Mary Ellen, and I moved from King County to beautiful Port Ludlow in 2015. We have been grateful every day for the good fortune to live in such a wonderful area.

Dick retired from the IRS after 26 years, over 20 of which were spent in a variety of management and teaching roles. Prior to that I spent 9 years on the Tacoma Police Department. Mary Ellen and I retired on January 2nd, 2008 and spent the next few years trying to decide where in the world we wanted tospend our retirement years. After strongly considering the highlands of Panama, our youngest granddaughter was born and we decided we needed to stay local. Very happy that we made that decision.

I have served on various of boards and community activities, including: 9 years on the Pheasants Hollow HOA (where we lived before moving to Port Ludlow), the SBCA Board for two years, the Port Ludlow Village Players staff for 2+ years (including operating the sound effects) plus a short time on the PLVP Board before COVID shut us down. I also helped out at the PLPA wine bar during performances for two years.

Who We Are

Port Ludlow Performing Arts (PLPA) is a not-for-profit community organization with an all-volunteer Board of Directors. It is dedicated to providing quality entertainment for area audiences, as well as offering educational outreach to support the arts in local elementary and secondary schools.

PLPA offers a season of seven concerts/programs each year, held at the South Bay Club in Port Ludlow, WA. Moving into its 31st season (2021-2022), the organization networks with agencies, auditions talent, negotiates contracts . . . all to schedule an exciting repertoire of entertainment for its patrons.
